Goa Giri Putri

The perfect place to take a moment of silence and reminisce over the day’s wonders. In Bali, a lot of caves are used as temples and places of worship. Here in Nusa Penida, we have our very own – Pura Goa Giri Putri. In English “Giri” means “mountain/hill” and “Putri” is “daughter”. “Daughter” is a symbol of Godly power, maternity, and feminine energy. Goa Giri Putri is a home for divine forces where locals of Hindu faith go to pray, practice yoga and meditate. The temple can house 5,000 people at once...you can just imagine its size!
The entrance to the cave is a small hole that immediately opens up on the inside to a huge space. Even though you may not be of Hindu faith, you are bound to feel the serenity and holiness of the space.
