This tour takes you to the very heart of Bali. You will visit both natural and manmade wonders of central Bali. Beautiful waterfalls, an ancient and purifying temple, amazing views and a delicious lunch, in beautiful surroundings to boot. For lovers of nature and culture; this one is especially for you!
Tegenungan Waterfall
The view from the top is truly breathtaking. There are so many photo opportunities along the way, both completely natural and others man made, that fit into nature’s backdrop seamlessly. One of these is ‘the bird nest’, which as the name suggests, just looks like a nest where you can sit inside and take photos for free.
Please note: you will need to be reasonably fit to be safe and enjoy the falls due to the numerous stairs to climb and descend.
Tirta Empul Temple
Water - the source of all life on Earth 💦
Here at this temple we can experience a holy and cleansing moment as we take part in ‘Melukat’; a water purification ritual. The water temple or ‘Tirta Empul’ is one of the largest and most visited water temples in Indonesia. The temple was founded in 926 A.D. and is dedicated to Vishnu; the Hindu god of water. The name of the temple actually means 'holy water spring' in Balinese. These sacred springs are said to have been created by The God Indra and possess curative properties.
Bathers come from all over the world to cleanse their minds and souls in the blessed, fresh water. Beginning in the pool on the left side, you dip yourself beneath the first water spout. Once you have cleansed yourself under the first spout you join the next line for the following water spout. You continue this process until you have been cleansed under each of the 30 waterspouts that fill the two purification pools. There are an additional two spouts that are only for cleansing people who have passed away and are therefore prohibited to be used by the living.
There is something so powerful about the fresh, gushing water pouring over your head and back that leaves your heart and soul feeling born again and renewed. This is also a beautiful photo opportunity for you and your traveling companions. Of course, the real reason we come here is to appreciate and enjoy the ritual itself, a photo would be a lovely memento of this memorable occasion. We can’t recommend this experience enough!
Batur view point
Here at Montana del Cafe you will take a break and enjoy a delicious lunch, overlooking the most picturesque view of Mount Batur and the surrounding landscape.
Penglipuran Village
Penglipuran is a village open for visiting tourists. You may be aware of the Chinese concept of Feng Shui and that there are many meanings behind architecture and positioning of rooms and their contents. There is a similar concept in Bali; Balinese architecture traditionally has a myriad of design features with meanings linked to religion and mythology.
Penglipuran Village follows this interesting philosophy closely. Every house, garden, gate, road and temple is consistently designed with a specific reason and meaning. It is one of the cleanest villages in the world, even the style of this village was adopted in the Netherlands.
Kanto lampo Waterfall
Kanto Lampo Waterfall in Gianyar, is relatively new in terms of being known to tourists. These stunning falls are a perfect oasis from the heart of the day. The water tumbles down into the secluded and shady canyon. Cool off and take a moment to enjoy the freshness and therapeutic sound of the water crashing into the pool below. You can climb the side of the rocks to enjoy the water cascading down. Once again – perfect photo opportunity!
