Travel time on Nusa Penida
What you need to know before going to Nusa Penida
How many days will I spend on this island? 🤔
You asked yourself that question many times when planning a holiday 💫
Here you will find everything you need to answer that!👇
How to get to Nusa Penida ? 🧐
Have basically a few ways to get from Bali to Nusa Penida ⛵️
You can take a boat from three points on the east coast of Bali:
1) Sanur Beach Harbour. One, and the most regularly used, but be prepared to get your feet wet cause there’s no actual harbour there! Speedboat journey taking about 45 minutes or so.
2) Kusumba - Tribuana village. It’s less used for tourism purposes cause its far away from Bali’s tourist spots.
3) Padang Bai 🚘
Pick the one that’s most convenient for you.
As you may know overpricing is a common thing here, that’s why I would recommend you to book it online and get the lowest price in our website, you can follow this link to reserve your ticket

Now, straight to the point, let’s go for it! 🤩
How To Get Around On Nusa Penida? 🚕 or 🛵
The island can be visited on a day trip, but I think it’s better to spend at least a few days seeing things here.
Unless you are an experienced driver, we recommend you to get a car driver, this is the best way to get around the island is by car.
If you are solo-traveller, better rent a scooter with driver.
Nusa Penida is quite a large island and most of the spots to visit are about one or one a half hour away from where most of the hotels are located and it can take up to more then one hour to get from one side of the island to the other.
So, what’s going to be your choice? 👆
Is Nusa Penida Safe?
- Yes!
We've been living here long time and violent crime is unheard of in Penida, here is a tight knit community and the locals are very kind and welcoming, they are religious people ...
How Long To Stay in Nusa Penida?
Don’t be a day tripper here. There’s so much to see and to do here, more than on the neighboring islands.
I would recomend to spend at least 2 or 3 days in Nusa Penida, but you could easily take a week, especially if you love snorkeling.
